ABUJA, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)-President Bola Tinubu, on Friday evening, hosted President Julius Maada Bio of Sierra Leone at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
While the specific details of their discussions were not made public, the meeting is believed to have centred on regional peace, security, and economic integration across West Africa.
President Bio, who currently chairs the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), took over from President Tinubu in June.

Friday’s engagement comes approximately four months after Bio assumed leadership of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government.
On his verified X handle, the Sierra Leonean president noted that he arrived in Abuja to speak at Baze University’s 12th convocation and interact with African business leaders.
This visit represents his first official trip to Nigeria since taking up the ECOWAS chairmanship.
Both leaders are expected to reinforce collaboration on democracy promotion, counterterrorism efforts, and sustainable development across ECOWAS member states.
