LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- Lagos is set to shimmer tonight as the Africa Fashion Show 2025 takes center stage, ushering in a glamorous weekend of style and creativity ahead of the Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) 2025.
Organized by the Africa Film Academy (AFA), producers of the prestigious AMAA, the fashion showcase will spotlight African designers and celebrate the continent’s evolving fashion narrative. The event kicks off a packed weekend leading to the highly anticipated AMAA gala on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at the Balmoral Convention Centre, Lagos.
This year’s AMAA promises an electrifying blend of film, fashion, and music. Afrobeat sensation and Grammy nominee Made Kuti is set to headline the ceremony, leading an impressive lineup of African performers.

Backed by the Ebony Band and DJ Kenchello, Kuti will bring a modern Afrobeat energy to a night celebrating cinematic excellence.
Over 500 film practitioners from across Africa and the diaspora are expected to attend the 21st edition, which organizers describe as a tribute to AMAA’s late founder, Peace Maria Ogechi Anyiam-Osigwe. According to Tony Anih, AMAA’s Chief Operating Officer, this year’s event aims to elevate the brand’s legacy through exceptional artistry and world-class entertainment.
“We have curated a truly African experience that will wow attendees. From the music to the visuals, everything reflects the spirit and creativity of our continent,” AMAA’s Technical Director Kingsley James, said.

As Lagos transforms into Africa’s creative capital this weekend, the Africa Fashion Show sets the tone for a spectacular celebration of film, culture, and music, spotlighting a dazzling prelude to a night where Africa’s brightest stars will shine on one stage.
