LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- Renowned Nigerian dancer and choreographer Kaffy is using her platform to address a deeply sensitive issue, child safety and the importance of boundaries.
In a heartfelt Instagram video, the dance icon opened up about a disturbing childhood experience that shaped her perspective on protecting children from inappropriate behavior.
According to Kaffy, the incident involved a trusted family friend and happened “right in front of people who trusted the person.” She recalled being too young to fully understand what was happening.
“I knew something about it was wrong,” Kaffy said.
The award-winning choreographer explained that individuals who harm children often don’t look like predators, stressing that they can appear warm, caring, and helpful.

“Many of them appear caring. They may be the ones who always want to help or be around the child. That’s why parents need to pay attention and set clear boundaries,” Kaffy warned.
She cautioned parents against placing blind trust in familiar figures, highlighting the dangers of the so-called “favorite uncles, aunties, nannies, and drivers.” Kaffy emphasized that children must be taught to say “no” to unwanted touch or interactions, no matter who the adult is.
Amid a wave of disturbing videos involving children, the dance star also called out the tendency of adults to make casual comments about children’s bodies or show affection without consent, describing such behavior as harmful.
She reminded parents that children have the right to personal space and autonomy, which must be respected by everyone around them.
Sounding a wake-up call for every parent to protect innocence, promote consent, and ensure that no child’s safety is left to chance, Kaffy encouraged families to create emotionally safe environments.
Ultimately, she urged parents to stay observant and responsive to early signs of discomfort or distress in their children.
