LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has confirmed that her estranged parents, Rita Daniels and Jude Ojeogwu, have reunited after years apart, coming together for a single purpose, bordering on the release of their detained son, Sammy West.
The revelation comes amid growing attention surrounding Regina’s ongoing marital drama with politician and billionaire Senator Ned Nwoko. While her mother, Rita Daniels, has been outspoken throughout the controversy, her father had maintained silence, until now.
Taking to social media on Thursday, the actress shared a video that showed her parents holding hands, stating that the reunion was driven purely by love for their family.
Marking a rare moment of unity, she stated that their coming together carried “no negative ulterior motive other than their daughter’s happiness.”
Regina confirmed that her brother remains in detention, following his alleged involvement in the ongoing marital crisis. Expressing frustration over the situation, she vowed to fight for his freedom.

“Sammy’s detainment is taking way too long, but we will get him out even if I have to march there myself and create a storm! Since they want me,” she wrote.
In a separate video, her older brother Sweezy shared a clip showing Sammy West in police custody. He alleged that Senator Ned Nwoko had ordered officers to transfer Sammy to Keffi Prison without due legal process, claiming it was retaliation for speaking out against the alleged violence Regina endured.
Sweezy appealed for public help, describing his brother as a young father with a growing family, asking, “What sort of injustice is this?”
The actress also opened up about her parents bond, describing her father as “one of the biggest lawyers back in the day, but Nigeria happened,” and calling her mother a “powerhouse” who would do anything for her children.
“I love you, Mom and Dad! This is all I actually ever wanted,” she added, hinting at long-awaited peace within her family.
