LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- Lagos nightlife figure and socialite, Pretty Mike, is facing fresh controversy as a Federal High Court in Lagos has ordered the interim forfeiture of his nightclub, Proxy Lagos, following allegations of drug storage and distribution on the premises.
Presiding over the case, Justice Musa Kakaki issued the order on Tuesday after reviewing an ex parte motion filed by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), which accused Pretty Mike, real name Mike Nwalie, of using the upscale Victoria Island nightclub as a base for illicit activities.
According to court documents, NDLEA operatives raided the property at No. 7 Akin Adesola Street, seizing 169 cylinders (approximately 384.6 kilograms) of nitrous oxide, commonly known as laughing gas, and 200 grams of cannabis sativa.
The agency alleged that the substances were intended for a “large-scale drug party” being organized at the venue.
During the midnight operation on October 26, 2025, officers reportedly arrested over 200 people, including Pretty Mike and his associate Joachim Hillary. Laboratory analysis confirmed the seized materials as controlled substances under Nigerian law.

In an affidavit submitted to the court, Deputy Commander of Narcotics, Nasiru Garba Bungudu, stated that the nightclub had a prior history of drug-related activities allegedly carried out with the knowledge of its owners.
The NDLEA requested the forfeiture to the Federal Government, describing the property as an “instrumentality of crime.” The court also ordered that all business and entertainment activities at Proxy Lagos remain suspended while investigations continue.
The case was adjourned until January 28, 2026, for further hearing.
Pretty Mike, famous for his flamboyant public appearances and eccentric social media persona, has yet to issue an official statement regarding the ruling. Known for staging headline-grabbing stunts at events, the entertainer’s silence has fueled speculation about his next move.
For a man who has long courted controversy in Nigeria’s entertainment scene, this latest legal twist could prove to be Pretty Mike’s most serious challenge yet, one that may redefine his reputation far beyond Lagos nightlife.
