LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- Lagos is turning up the heat this December with the debut of Shakara Festival 2025, a four-day open air celebration of African music, culture, and lifestyle set to light up Nautica Beach Resort, Lekki, from December 18 to 21.
Poised to redefine “Detty December,” Shakara Festival promises a beachside explosion of live performances, art, food, and fashion, attracting over 20,000 festivalgoers daily, ranging from homegrown fans to global diasporans ready to reconnect with Africa’s vibrant rhythm.
The festival aims to spotlight the contemporary African experience in all its color and creativity. Daytime sessions will feature thought-provoking panels on the music business and the creative economy.
Meanwhile “Shakara Junction” will buzz with energy as a curated marketplace of food, fashion, and art, as vendors celebrates Nigeria’s entrepreneurial flair.

As dusk falls, the tempo rises with “Shakara Afterdark”, a series of exclusive late-night parties in collaboration with some of Lagos hottest rave brands, keeping the celebration alive till dawn.
“We wanted to build something truly groundbreaking for the Nigerian music scene. Shakara is about authentic expression, uniting diverse sounds and people in one massive celebration,” the CEO and Founder of Shakara Festival, Godson Oriaku said.
An eclectic lineup of established and emerging stars from Afrobeats, Alté, Soul, Gospel, and Afro-Fusion will be revealed in the coming weeks.
According to the Founding Partner of Shakara Festival, Abiola Francesca Dacosta-Ajayi, the event represents more than entertainment.
“Shakara Festival is a world-class platform to celebrate Africa’s creative power. It’s our gift to Lagos, a bold statement of pride in our cultural influence,” Dacosta-Ajayi added.
