NUJ Lagos Mourns As Dr Qasim Akinreti Loses Wife

LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)-The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Lagos State Council, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of the wife of its former Chairman Dr. Qasim Akinreti.

NUJ describes the loss as a painful moment for the Lagos journalism community.

In a condolence message signed by the NUJ Lagos Chairman, Adeleye Ajayi, the union extended its heartfelt sympathy to Dr. Akinreti and his family, acknowledging his immense contributions to the growth and integrity of journalism in Lagos State.

The statement, issued by the Council’s Secretary, Tunde Olalere, emphasized the union’s solidarity with the bereaved family, assuring Dr. Akinreti of the NUJ’s full support during this period of grief.

Dr. Akinreti who served the union with distinction and selflessness, does not stand alone at this time of loss. The council pledged to share in his pain and pray for divine comfort.

The late Mrs. Akinreti was remembered for her virtues of warmth, compassion, and steadfast devotion to her family and community, leaving a lasting impressions on those who knew her.

As the Lagos NUJ joins friends and well-wishers in mourning, the council prayed that the Almighty grants Dr. Akinreti and his family the strength to bear the loss and that the departed soul finds eternal peace.

Her legacy of kindness and quiet strength, the union said, will continue to inspire those she touched in life.
