ABUJA, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)-The Zamfara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has unanimously endorsed President Bola Tinubu as its sole consensus candidate for the 2027 presidential election.
The resolution was taken on Saturday during a gathering of the party’s executive members from the ward, local government, and state levels.
While moving the motion, the Senator representing Zamfara North Senatorial District, Senator Sahabi Ya’u, said the decision was informed by what he described as the president’s “tremendous achievements” over the last three years.

“Based on what we have discussed here, I want to inform all Nigerians that we, the members of our great party (APC) in Zamfara State, have passed a vote of confidence in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“We have selected him as the only consensus candidate for the 2027 presidential election,” Senator Ya’u announced.
Supporting the motion, the Member representing Maru/Bungudu Federal Constituency, Abdulmalik Zubairu, said the move demonstrates the trust party members have in the president’s performance.
“We have seen the impact of his good governance and his leadership style. As such, we have no other APC presidential candidate than him,” Zubairu noted.
Speaking earlier, the APC leader in Zamfara State, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, urged party members to remain united and avoid internal disputes that affected the party in the 2019 polls.
“We are gathered today to reunite APC members for future elections.
“We have to unite ourselves this time around, considering what happened in 2023.
“If we really want to succeed, we must forget our past mistakes and differences and work under one umbrella,” Yari said.
Yari also praised Tinubu for his economic and security reforms, adding, “We have to thank President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the food price reduction, and I want to assure farmers that farming implements will be sold at affordable prices in the next farming season.”
He continued, “We have seen changes in the fight against banditry and other criminal activities.
“As such, we have no other presidential candidate in 2027 other than President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”
Tinubu, elected in 2023, is the current president of Nigeria and succeeded former President Muhammadu Buhari.
