OGUN, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)-Mikel Arteta’s table-topping Arsenal secured yet another decisive victory on Saturday, defeating Burnley 2-0 to extend their advantage at the summit of the Premier League to a commanding seven points.
The win maintained the Gunners’ impressive form, driven once again by set-piece efficiency.
After Bukayo Saka had missed a golden early chance, Arsenal broke the deadlock in the 14th minute when Viktor Gyokeres converted a close-range finish, capitalizing on a perfectly delivered corner kick from Declan Rice.

The afternoon proved to be another dominant display of control and attacking threat by the league leaders.
It was Arsenal’s eight set-piece goal from their opening 10 Premier League, but they showed they could be just as dangerous from open play soon after the half-hour mark when Rice finished off a superb counter-attack to double their advantage.
With the game done and dusted by half-time, the visitors took their foot off the gas after the interval. There were still chances for them to extend their lead, however, with Ethan Nwaneri shooting wide and Christian Norgaard having a shoot well saved before the full-time whistle went to make it nine wins in a row in all competitions for Arteta’s early pace-setters.
