OGUN, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- Atalanta manager Ivan Juric has openly called on forward Ademola Lookman to return to his best form, stating, “He needs to get back,” amid the club’s growing attacking woes.
La Dea have managed a paltry two goals in their last four games, despite a favorable run of fixtures, demonstrating a clear lack of cutting edge in the final third.
Lookman, who has regained his place in the starting XI following the drama surrounding his desired summer transfer, is facing heavy scrutiny. The Super Eagles forward has yet to register a goal or an assist in six appearances this season and has not been involved in a goal for Atalanta since a Serie A match back on May 12.

Coach Juric, who understands that Lookman is often the “x-factor” for his team, is now publicly urging the star to rediscover his “mojo.”
Pressure Mounts for Club and Country
Lookman’s dip in form is a concern not only for Atalanta but also for the Super Eagles. His last three outings for Nigeria were disappointing, and his absence due to suspension in the recent 4-0 victory over Benin was arguably a blessing in disguise for the national team.
Ahead of the crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup playoffs in November, Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle will be desperately hoping Lookman finds his touch. However, the pressure is mounting: if the former Leicester City man doesn’t start racking up goals and assists for Atalanta soon, his starting position for Nigeria could be questioned, especially after Samuel Chukwueze’s impressive display against Benin.
