LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- Nigerian rapper Zinoleesky and Ghanaian singer Moliy ignited a fiery social media feud on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, after a rumored collaboration between the two went south, publicly and fast.
It all began when a flyer suggesting an upcoming joint project surfaced online. Moliy, however, quickly shut down the speculation in a now-viral post, retweeting the flyer with a dismissive, “Who?”, a clear jab implying she didn’t know who Zinoleesky was.
Unamused by the shade, Zinoleesky clapped back, branding her a “2 hits wonder” and adding, “I don’t even know the 2nd song @Moliymusic.”
The exchange sent fans into a frenzy and escalated tensions between the two rising Afrobeats artists.

Moliy wasn’t done. She returned fire, throwing her own punch, tweeting, “Very grateful to not be known by you, artists that know me aren’t local champions.”
The line hit hard, sparking further backlash, especially among Zinoleesky’s Nigerian fanbase, with some even threatening to cancel Moliy in Nigeria.
Despite the uproar, Moliy continues to hold her ground, particularly outside the continent. The Ghanaian singer is a growing force in the global Afrobeats scene, boasting multiple chart entries in the UK and US, including her hit Shake It To The Max Remix, which currently sits at No. 1 on the Billboard US Afrobeats Chart. On Spotify alone, she boasts of 14.5 Spotify monthly listeners.
The latest spat has not only drawn attention to both artists’ egos but also highlighted the growing tension between local and global recognition in Afrobeats. For now, fans are left watching and choosing sides.
