ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- Police operatives of the Enugu State Command, attached to the Unity Division, have recovered a Toyota Avensis car stolen in Otukpo, Benue State, over three months ago.
The vehicle, which was reportedly taken from where it was parked on June 29, 2025, was recovered at Ibagwa-Nike, Enugu, on October 13, 2025, at about 2:10 p.m., following a credible security tip-off.
According to a statement by the Command’s spokesperson, SP Daniel Ndukwe, the recovery also led to the arrest of three male suspects identified as Ernest Oshi (51 years), Ukpai Ifeanyi (36 years), and Ogbuzulu David (32 years), all of whom are connected to the crime.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Ernest Oshi purchased the stolen vehicle from Ukpai Ifeanyi, a mechanic, who had earlier bought it from Ogbuzulu David, a car dealer.
David claimed he acquired the vehicle from another mechanic based in Benue State.
“The suspects further confessed their individual levels of involvement as the case continues to unfold under diligent police investigation,” the statement added.
Meanwhile, the Enugu State Police Command has handed over the suspects and the recovered vehicle to the Benue State Police Command, which has jurisdiction over the location of the theft, for conclusive investigation and prosecution.
