BBNaija’s Faith Adewale Joins Lagos Food Bank To Tackle Hunger Crisis In Vulnerable Communities

LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- Former Big Brother Naija housemate Faith Adewale, has teamed up with the Lagos Food Bank Initiative (LFBI) for a targeted feeding outreach aimed at addressing rising food insecurity in the city.

The partnership is part of LFBI’s Temporary Emergency Food Assistance Programme (TEFAP), which delivers emergency food supplies to households hit hardest by the escalating cost of living.

Faith’s involvement is more than symbolic, he’s actively participating in the logistics, from sorting items to handing out packages at LFBI’s warehouse distribution site.

According to LFBI, having a high-profile figure like Faith on board is helping to boost public awareness and encourage community support for food-rescue efforts across Lagos.

“This isn’t a one-off appearance. Faith is directly contributing to an operation with real delivery targets and structured outreach to the elderly, people with disabilities, and families in informal settlements,” an LFBI representative confirmed.

At the core of the program is LFBI’s #Agricovery initiative, which salvages surplus produce from farms and markets, sorts it at distribution hubs, and sends it to underserved communities.

The food is then redistributed in collaboration with five partner NGOs: JKO Heart Foundation, McDera Food Bank, The Glow Foundation, Faith Moves Foundation, and I Care For All Foundation.

Each partner manages specific catchment areas, ensuring accountability, accurate beneficiary targeting, and efficient last-mile delivery. All recipients are registered, and every handover is documented, as part of LFBI’s ongoing strategy to track impact and refine its model for scale.

Faith’s contribution extends beyond this outreach. He has pledged to support at least one additional feeding mission and will leverage his platform to amplify LFBI’s awareness and fundraising campaigns via his own Faith Moves Foundation.

“I’ve volunteered behind the scenes before, but seeing the impact up close made me want to do more,” he shared with organisers. His previous involvement with LFBI’s #NUMEPlan, which combats child malnutrition, reportedly sparked his deeper commitment to the cause.

On the ground, volunteers say Faith’s presence helped accelerate logistics, drawing more hands, smoothing crowd control, and speeding up distribution.

Still, the success of the program rests on solid infrastructure and trusted local partners, not celebrity presence alone.
