ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- Two-time presidential aspirant and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dele Momodu, has issued a public warning over a scam operation involving impersonators posing as Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.
He urged Nigerians to exercise vigilance and avoid falling prey to fraudulent schemes.
In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday, Momodu disclosed that he was personally targeted by the same scammers who had earlier attempted to deceive media entrepreneur Japheth Omojuwa.
“Same nuisance called me, I immediately blocked the number, and called Senator Natasha on a familiar line to tell her some scammers were on the prowl… Lord have mercy…” Momodu wrote.
Reports revealed that the scam involves fraudsters contacting prominent Nigerians, pretending to be Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan, and inviting them to participate in a Zoom conference.

Once the targets agree, they are asked to share access codes or other sensitive information, which the scammers use to defraud unsuspecting victims.
Omojuwa, popularly known as JJ Omojuwa, had earlier raised the alarm about the impersonation on Saturday.
He explained that the scammer’s behavior made it obvious that she was not the real senator.
“It was obvious from the person’s desperation to have me send the code over. But I see how this could have worked for other people. There were other people in the background coaching her on what to reply to me as I dragged the conversation along,” he said.
Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, who represents the Kogi Federal Constituency in the Nigerian Senate, has not yet publicly commented on the incident.
Known for her activism, Akpoti-Uduaghan is a lawyer and advocate for social justice, youth empowerment, and women’s rights.
She rose to national prominence through her work in promoting transparency and community development.
