Omah Lay’s comment echoes growing sentiments among industry insiders. Just recently, fellow artist Slimcase also criticized the current state of Afrobeats, claiming the genre is becoming monotonous due to oversaturation.
According to Slimcase, the constant flood of new releases has diluted excitement and creativity within the genre. He suggested that artists take more time between drops to build anticipation and preserve quality.
