LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- Popular Nigerian content creator and actor Emmanuel Taymesan, has revealed he has no plans to permanently leave Nigeria, despite its many frustrations.
Currently vacationing in the United Kingdom, Taymesan took to Instagram with a candid video where he humorously described his emotional bond with Nigeria as a “toxic relationship” he just can’t quit.
“I’ve made peace with the fact that I’m in an abusive relationship with Nigeria. The kind where the guy beats the girl, but once they settle, he still knocks sense out of her. That’s how I feel. I no fit stay long for abroad, I’ve never lasted more than 10 to 14 days,” he said.

Taymesan admitted that while life in Nigeria often wears him down, he remains emotionally rooted in the country. He described Nigeria as both a source of pain and fulfillment, saying it’s this bittersweet experience that keeps him grounded.
“Nigeria gives me pain and pleasure. I can’t help it, I’m stuck. I’ve told God, give me the means to escape for pleasure, but as for relocating permanently, I no fit. We die here. We’re the leaders of tomorrow, and we will build that Nigeria!” He added.
Despite saying he needs therapy because of his resolve, his honest and humorous take quickly struck a chord with fans, many of whom applauded his loyalty to the country while echoing similar feelings of love-hate toward the Nigerian experience.
