Speaking during the presentation, Ajagbe Adeyemi Teslim said the idea of compiling the 35 distinguished members of the GAC into a single frame was to showcase their unity and honor their immense contributions.
“This will no doubt encourage other political leaders in our state to be more dedicated in their service to Lagos State, the country, and humanity as a whole,” he said.
Ajagbe further described the frame as the product of thorough research by the August24news.com editorial team, adding that the initiative is meant to “reshape, promote, and rebrand Lagos politics.”
He noted that after presenting the frame to the Speaker, similar presentations would be made to Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, his deputy Dr. Obafemi Kadri Hamzat, state commissioners, federal and state lawmakers, all 57 council chairmen, and other party loyalists across Lagos.
Receiving the frame with joy, Speaker Mudashiru Obasa commended August24news.com and its publisher for the creativity and research put into the work. He assured that the frame would be preserved in his office and archives “for coming generations to know their legends and political leaders.” The Speaker also called for a minute’s silence in honor of the eight late members of the council.
In his remarks, GAC secretary Alhaji Mutiu Are described the council as “one of the beauties of Lagos politics.”
Also reacting, political analyst and publisher of Upshot Media, Mr. Mojeed Jamiu, praised Ajagbe for the initiative, stressing that GAC members deserve even greater recognition for their immense contributions to governance in Lagos State.
