ABUJA, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)-The faction of the African Democratic Congress loyal to the party’s 2023 governorship candidate in Gombe State, Nafiu Bala, has announced the launch of a new membership portal.
The group also distanced itself from another faction claiming to operate under the name “Coalition of African Democratic Congress.”
In a statement issued on Friday, Bala’s Director of Media and Public Affairs, Dr. Christopher Okechukwu, dismissed reports of a meeting allegedly held on Thursday by the self-proclaimed coalition.
Okechukwu stated, “We wish to emphasise that there is no recognised association or coalition within the African Democratic Congress bearing the name ‘Coalition of African Democratic Congress.’

Also in attendance were former Minister of Digital Economy Isa Pantami, ex-Kwara State Governor Abdulfatai Ahmed, and former Sokoto State Governor Aminu Tambuwal, alongside former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar.
Atiku later shared on his official X handle the importance of the gathering, describing it as part of a national movement to challenge forces hindering development.
He wrote, “I am currently at the stakeholders meeting of the Coalition African Democratic Congress in Abuja. It’s a meeting of the Nigerian people against the oligarchs who promote poverty and insecurity in the land.”
