Benin managed to pull one back just before halftime with a goal from Jeremy Zannou. However, neither side scored in the second half, and Nigeria secured all three points.
The Golden Eaglets, coached by Manu Garba, will now face Burkina Faso in their final group stage match for a chance to clinch the top spot and advance to the next round.
