LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- The Zamfara State All Progressives Congress (APC) has come hard on former Senator Kabiru Garba Marafa, dismissing his claim that he singlehandedly delivered one million votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2023 elections.

Speaking in Gusau on Wednesday, the state party chairman, Alhaji Tukur Umar Danfulani, described Marafa as a “frustrated politician” whose influence in Zamfara politics has since faded.

“Marafa could not even win his own constituency in 2019. He was rejected by his people and has not recovered from that defeat. How then can he boast of delivering one million votes for President Tinubu?” Danfulani queried.

He explained that the President’s votes in Zamfara came through the APC’s strong political machinery and leaders like former Governor Bello Matawalle and Senator Abdulaziz Yari, not through Marafa’s efforts.

Danfulani also dismissed Marafa’s threat to withhold votes in 2027 as “laughable and baseless,” insisting that the APC’s recent victory in the Kaura Namoda South bye-election shows that the party still enjoys massive grassroots support.

“His utterances are nothing but frustration because he failed to get elected and failed to get appointments in President Tinubu’s government. If not for the way he dragged the President’s name, we wouldn’t even waste time responding to a rejected politician like him,” the chairman added.

According to him, APC in Zamfara remains strong and united, while Marafa is “simply seeking attention through propaganda.”
