ABUJA, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)-A prominent youth leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Niger State, Shitu Adamu Evuti, has officially resigned from the party and joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

In a resignation letter dated 18th July 2025 and addressed to the PDP Chairman of Evuti/Kpada Ward in Lapai Local Government Area, Evuti pointed to unresolved internal conflicts at the national level as the primary reason for his departure.

“I wish to formally tender my resignation from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), effective immediately,” the letter read.

He expressed appreciation to his constituents in Evuti/Kpada Ward, the broader Lapai LGA, and the entire Niger South Senatorial District for their sustained support and trust throughout his political journey.

The former youth leader also thanked the PDP for the platform and recognition it accorded him, particularly his selection as the party’s candidate for the Niger State House of Assembly in 2019 and his subsequent appointment as State Youth Leader in 2023.

According to Evuti, the decision to leave the PDP followed extensive consultations with constituents, political associates, and relevant stakeholders.

He affirmed his commitment to public service, stating that he would now continue his political career under the banner of the ADC, which he described as a “progressive alternative.”

“To the PDP family, I humbly seek forgiveness from anyone I may have offended during my time in the party. Personally, I bear no grudges and have forgiven anyone who may have wronged me,” he added.
