LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)-Nollywood actress Osas Ighodaro has opened up about the emotional toll of losing her mother, nearly four years after her passing.
In a heartfelt interview on VJ Adams’ show “Off The Top”, the actress spoke candidly about navigating grief and finding strength through vulnerability.
“I haven’t cried in a while; it’s almost been four years since my mum passed away, and the pain never goes away,” Osas revealed.
She shared how the emotions still surface unexpectedly, catching her off guard. Rather than suppressing her feelings, the award-winning actress explained that she’s learned to face them head-on.

“From time to time the emotion takes over… it can come unawares, and that’s what I’m not really keen on. I allow myself to feel what I’m feeling, then I move forward,” she said, describing how she’s embraced the healing process.
Osas also shared a profound source of strength. In her belief, her struggles are temporary and her journey will one day be part of a larger story she’ll share with her mother in the afterlife.
“One thing that has really helped me… is that this situation is temporary,” she said. “Live your life the best way you can so when your time comes to transition, you have a lot to tell your family over there.”
With grace and resilience, Osas concluded, “I’m trying to live my life so that when I meet my mum, long from now, I’d have a lot to gist about.”
