LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)-Babcock University has officially dismissed Master Oladipupo Siwajuola following a disciplinary investigation into his unauthorised exit from campus and subsequent series of infractions.
The decision, communicated in a statement signed by the University’s Director of Marketing and Communication, Joshua Suleiman, on Wednesday, July 5, underscores the institution’s commitment to student welfare, safety, and moral integrity.
According to the statement, Oladipupo left the campus without authorisation on April 28, 2025. Neither staff members nor students knew of his whereabouts and on May 3, his mother began making public accusations on social media, alleging negligence and complicity by the University regarding his disappearance.
However, on May 15, Oladipupo was returned to the University campus by his father, and was then invited by the University’s Security Services Department to provide a voluntary written statement detailing the circumstances surrounding his disappearance.
In his statement, Oladipupo admitted to deliberately leaving the campus through the Babcock University Teaching Hospital gate, disguised in a hoodie as an outpatient during a peak movement period.
He revealed that he spent two nights in the Ilishan community in Ogun state, before traveling to Lagos, where he stayed at a friend’s house.
Contrary to his mother’s public claims, he confirmed that it was his friend’s mother, not his secondary school friends who recognised him and informed him about the social media uproar, prompting his return.

Oladipupo further disclosed that the black soap in his possession, claimed by his mother to be for a skin condition was actually purchased from a traditional herbalist, Alfa Yusuf, for nearly N100,000.
He confessed to engaging in fetish practices, commonly referred to as “Yahoo Yahoo Plus,” as part of an attempt to get rich quickly.
Additional revelations included drug peddling on campus, impersonating another student using a stolen National Identification Number (NIN) to open a bank account, unauthorised sale of his personal phone under false pretences, and borrowing N500,000 from an online loan platform to fund gambling activities.
These confessions, according to the University’s statement, not only contradict his mother’s earlier accusations but also indicate that she had prior knowledge of some of his actions, including the use of herbal substances and contact with a traditional practitioner.
Following a thorough investigation and adherence to institutional disciplinary procedures, the University Disciplinary Committee found Oladipupo guilty of several infractions, including,
“Unauthorized exit from campus (Exeat violation), Possession and use of fetish materials, Drug peddling, Impersonation and dishonesty, and Unauthorized sale of personal property.”
Given the seriousness of these offences and in line with the University’s policies aimed at maintaining a safe and morally sound learning environment, Oladipupo has been dismissed from Babcock University with immediate effect.
He retains the right to appeal the decision in accordance with the University’s guidelines outlined in the Student Handbook.
The University expressed empathy for the family but reaffirmed that its primary obligation is to the safety and moral development of its student body.
It also strongly refuted the public allegations made by Oladipupo’s mother, describing them as “malicious and unfounded.” Nonetheless, out of respect for the responsible conduct of Oladipupo’s father, Babcock University has opted not to pursue legal action for libel at this time.
Babcock University reiterated its reputation as a faith-based institution dedicated to academic excellence, character formation, and moral integrity.
It urged parents and guardians to instil values of accountability and honesty in their children and called on the public to disregard misinformation while continuing to support its mission of nurturing responsible future leaders.
