ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- The All Progressives Congress (APC) has firmly denied reports that it has granted automatic return tickets to all current members of the National Assembly, describing the claims as “fake news.”

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, discredited what he called a “purported Breaking News Report” falsely linked to the party.

According to Vanguard, he urged party members and the public to completely disregard the information.

“The report is FAKE NEWS and should be disregarded in its entirety as it did not emanate from our great Party,” Morka stated.

He went on to describe the claim as being of “mischievous origin,” warning that it was deliberately crafted to mislead the public and interfere with the APC’s internal political processes.

“This viral claim is of mischievous origin and intended to mislead the public and disrupt internal party processes,” Morka said.

The clarification comes at a time of heightened speculation over the APC’s nomination strategies ahead of the next general elections.

The notion that incumbent lawmakers might receive automatic nominations has sparked considerable debate within and outside the party.

Morka emphasized that any official decisions regarding the party’s nomination processes will be communicated through verified and legitimate party platforms.

Official party decisions would be communicated through verified channels,” he added.

The APC’s statement aims to put an end to the circulating rumors and reassure party faithful that its internal democratic processes remain intact and uncompromised.
