LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)-Popular Nollywood actor Daniel Etim-Effiong has opened up about a personal chapter from his past, admitting that he once engaged in womanizing, though he described it as a short-lived phase of exploration and self-discovery.
In a revealing conversation on “With Chude”, hosted by media personality Chude Jideonwo, the actor-turned-filmmaker reflected on dating multiple women before getting married.
When asked directly whether he had ever been a womanizer, Etim-Effiong gave a thoughtful response, saying, “It depends on your definition of a womanizer.”
When Chude clarified, “a man who dates multiple women at the same time”, the actor responded, “Maybe there was a time in my life I was. Not for long, just certain periods where I explored. So, perhaps.”

Describing that period as formative, Etim-Effiong said, “They were good periods because they were periods of learning. I learned that certain things don’t necessarily bring you the fulfilment you think they will. On paper, it feels like the life, but in reality, maybe not.”
The actor, known for films like “Plan B” and “The Men’s Club”, went on to caution young people against embracing a player lifestyle, warning that habits formed before marriage often follow into it.
“It might seem cool to be a player, but if you develop that habit, you won’t just change overnight when you marry. If you’ve spent years keeping multiple relationships or walking away easily, that muscle for commitment won’t suddenly appear in marriage,” he explained.
Etim-Effiong emphasized the importance of emotional discipline and intentional growth before settling down, adding that unresolved patterns could derail future relationships.
