ABUJA, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)-The lawmaker representing Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency in Osun State, Hon. Oluwole Oke, has extended his congratulations to President Bola Tinubu on the occasion of his second year in office.
In a statement released to journalists on Friday, Oke, who chairs the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, praised Tinubu as “the most civil and tolerant President Nigeria has ever had.”
He commended the administration for upholding fundamental human rights, noting that “despite criticisms from opposition parties, within the All Progressives Congress, and even from the President’s own South West base, no one has been harassed or persecuted” a shift he said contrasts sharply with the approach of previous administrations.
Highlighting key policy moves, Oke applauded the President’s decision to eliminate the petroleum subsidy, calling it a bold economic step that disrupted vested interests and ensured that public funds flow into the federation account for constitutional distribution.
He also praised Tinubu’s youth-focused initiatives, referencing “the establishment of the Students Loan Fund and the unprecedented number of young Nigerians appointed into ministerial and MDA leadership roles. No other Nigerian President has matched this feat.”
On foreign policy, Oke cited improved global relations under Tinubu’s leadership, particularly the $2.5 billion agricultural investment secured from Brazil, which he said helped restore Nigeria’s credibility and contributed to the country’s removal from the IMF debtor list.
The lawmaker further acknowledged Tinubu’s commitment to peace, his support for traditional and religious institutions, non-interference in anti-corruption agency operations, and efforts to reform the security sector, which he described as hallmarks of visionary leadership.
“Security is a shared responsibility,” he noted, encouraging citizens to actively support ongoing national security initiatives. He also pointed out that Nigerian workers have seen wage increases during Tinubu’s tenure.
“On all fronts, economy, rights, education, diplomacy, security, and governance, Mr. President has delivered and continues to lead with courage and compassion. He is truly the father of a new Nigeria,” Oke concluded.
