LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)-Nollywood actress Ruby Ojiakor caused a stir on social media on Friday, after posting videos from her unconventional bridal shower, which she transformed into a spiritual worship session.
Earlier this year, Ojiakor announced her engagement to filmmaker Moc Madu, revealing their wedding was set for Saturday, May 31.
However, before tying the knot, the actress hosted a unique bridal shower that has since gone viral. The shower, not for glitz or glam, but for what she described as a moment “charged by the Holy Spirit.”
Sharing footage of the event on Instagram, Ruby declared that the gathering was unlike any typical bridal celebration.

“To be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life eternal. My bridal shower wasn’t business as usual. The whole atmosphere was fully charged by the Holy Spirit. I saw God. His host of angels came down live,” she wrote.
She continued, “I saw people receiving supernatural breakthroughs and blessings from my Heavenly Father. God cannot be mocked. Thank you, Jesus Christ, for the outpouring of your blessings. I am useless without you. Oh Lord Jesus, we love you.”
The deeply spiritual tone of the event has sparked mixed reactions online, with fans praising her boldness while others questioned the unusual blend of worship and wedding traditions.
Anticipating criticism, Ruby urged her detractors to voice their opinions before the wedding or remain silent. “What God has joined together, let no man put asunder,” she declared.
On Saturday, February 1, 2025, Ruby Ojiakor and Moc Madu officially tied the knot in her hometown. A touching moment from the ceremony now trending online shows the actress removing her heels and kneeling to honor her groom, whom she lovingly referred to as “Odogwu.”
