LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)-The tech and literary community came together in high spirits as author and data analyst Nzekwe Maxwell Afamefuna launched his debut book, “Learn Data Analysis Using Python in 24 Hours,” in an event that blended inspiration, celebration, and generosity.
Held in Lagos, the book launch was a dual celebration, marking both the unveiling of the book and the author’s birthday.
Guests included friends, family, and professionals from various sectors, many of whom donated generously in support of the project.
The highlight of the event was a review of the book by Nigerian Editor of Voice of Naija Communications, Medinat Kanabe,
who commended the author for producing a practical, easy-to-understand guide suited to African learners and professionals entering the tech space.
In his speech, Maxwell recounted how the idea for the book was born during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Like many others during the lockdown, he took time to reflect on future-proof skills and enrolled in a virtual Python for Data Analysis class.
Though he had some IT background, he admitted that the technical terms and tools were initially overwhelming. However, the class sparked a transformation.
“The deeper I went, the more I realized that data analysis is not just a tech skill—it’s a thinking skill, a tool that every business, professional, and decision-maker needs in this data-driven age,” he said.
Driven by his own learning experience and the challenges faced by self-taught African learners, Afamefuna was motivated to create a book that was both accessible and impactful.
“Learn Data Analysis Using Python in 24 Hours” is a beginner-friendly, project-based guide designed to help readers quickly transition into data analytics without being bogged down by theory.
Maxwell who is a Pi&AI ambassador in Nigeria emphasized that the book is especially targeted at professionals in business, finance, engineering, and academia who need to make sense of data in a rapidly evolving digital world.
In a further show of commitment to community empowerment, Afamefuna announced that the second edition of the book is already near completion, promising updated content and expanded sections based on feedback.
In addition, he is offering free registration to selected online tech courses as part of his birthday celebration and mission to support aspiring data analysts and tech enthusiasts.
The launch event not only introduced a new learning resource to the public but also positioned Maxwell as a rising voice in Nigeria’s growing tech education space—one committed to making knowledge accessible, practical, and purpose-driven.
