LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)-Officially, Drake has made history — again.
The Canadian rap superstar now holds the record for the most Diamond-certified songs ever, as confirmed by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
The RIAA awarded Drake two new Diamond plaques for his breakout 2009 single “Best I Ever Had” and 2013 hit “Hold On, We’re Going Home”, both of which have sold over 10 million units each.
These latest additions bring his total to an unprecedented “12 Diamond records”, cementing his status as the most Diamond-certified artist in RIAA history.

Drake overtakes previous record holders Post Malone and country legend Garth Brooks, who each held nine Diamond singles.
His historic run began in 2021 with “MIA”, a collaboration with Bad Bunny, and continued with solo hits like “Hotline Bling”, “God’s Plan”, and “One Dance” featuring WizKid and Kyla.
Major collaborations also earned Diamond status, including “Odio” with Romeo Santos, “Life’s Good” with Future, “Work” with Rihanna, “Sicko Mode” with Travis Scott, “Love Me” with Lil Wayne, and “No Guidance” with Chris Brown, which was certified Diamond as recently as September 2024.
This latest milestone adds to a week of wins for Drake. Over the weekend, during a surprise appearance at Central Cee’s concert in Toronto, he confirmed the return of OVO Fest this summer.
While no further details were shared, the announcement has reignited speculation around his long-awaited solo album.
With his legacy continuing to grow, Drake proves once again that he’s not just dominating charts — he’s rewriting music history.
