LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)-The high-profile split between American rappers Cardi B and Offset continues to unfold publicly, with new developments adding more complexity to their ongoing divorce.
According to reports, the former Migos rapper has filed an amended response in their divorce proceedings, now requesting “spousal support” from his estranged wife.
Filed earlier this month and reported on May 29, the documents show Offset did not specify an amount but did reiterate his request for “joint custody” of their three children.
He also agreed that Cardi B’s home should remain the primary residence for the kids.

It started in August 2024, when Cardi B filed for divorce ending their seven-year marriage. The separation has been anything but quiet, with the former couple frequently taking to social media to vent frustrations and throw subtle shades at each other.
The Bronx-born rapper also welcomed their third child that same summer, joining daughter Kulture and son Wave.
In an attempt to calm public tensions last month, Offset took to X social page, writing,
“Keep my name out sh*t please thank you tired of this circus I want out. Let ppl live they life… I want peace no smoke I love all Bardi Gang. We grown, man. She happy, let her live. She don’t want to see this sh*t either. Man, life goes on—we can all be friends, man.”
Despite the personal drama, both artists are pushing forward professionally. While Offset’s next album is “completed and ready for release”, Cardi B continues to build anticipation for her long-awaited sophomore project after her Grammy winning 2019 album “Invasion of Privacy”.
With personal and professional lives colliding, Cardi B and Offset remain two of hip-hop’s most talked-about figures, keeping fans and critics waiting for the next chapter of their story.
