LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)-Heeding to the call for activists to take up the case of Speed Darlington’s rape confession, Isaac Fayose, has disclosed that a teenage girl is preparing to file a formal report with the police.
Despite calling the controversial statement of sexual intimacy with a 15-year-old girl, a “stunt and intentional controversy”, Speed Darlington also known as “Akpi,” he has faced continuous severe backlash, regardless of his apology.
Speaking in a video posted to his Instagram page, Fayose condemned the incident and criticized what he described as a growing culture of impunity in Nigeria.
“Nigeria is the most lawless nation in the world. Even our children, the value they are getting now is so low. No law at all. How can we operate a lawless nation?” Fayose said.

He continued, “The latest saga is Speed Darlington coming on a live video to say he was involved with an underage girl. What a sad moment for our country. He made the confession on Children’s Day—where is the protection for our children?”
According to Fayose, the girl allegedly referenced in the video has now been identified and, accompanied by her mother, is expected to visit a police station to provide a formal statement to kickstart an investigation.
“Akpi thought it was a joke, but unfortunately for him, we now have someone stepping forward. You’re going to be the latest example of someone facing consequences for crossing the line. The international community is watching,” Fayose added.
Throwing a quick jab at the rapper, the activist stated, “Akpi, you’re going to be the latest pedophile in Nigeria. You’re going to join the likes of R. Kelly. You have been joking about Diddy’s baby oil scandal, but now you’re a victim of your oil.”
Fayose, currently in Dubai, noted that the controversy has drawn international attention and expressed hope that law enforcement authorities will take appropriate action, asserting that this case would not “be swept under the carpet.”
