ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- Minister of Works, David Umahi, has taken a swipe at the Labour Party and its supporters, many of whom are loyalists of the party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, describing them as “very disobedient.”
The former Ebonyi State Governor made the remark on Friday in Abuja during the Ministerial Press Briefing where he presented the performance report of his ministry.
While rounding off his presentation, the former Governor of Ebonyi State appreciated his team and used the opportunity to jab at the opposition party.
“I don’t want to be disobedient or be a member of Labour Party that are very disobedient.

“I want to commend my Minister of State, Works. My Permanent Secretary and all the Directors. But greater commendation goes to Mr. President,” Umahi stated.
Earlier in his address, the minister praised President Bola Tinubu for initiating the long-awaited Sokoto-Badagry road project, which he said was originally conceived by former President Shehu Shagari nearly five decades ago.
“The good news is the Sokoto-Badagry. This was a dream of the Shagari administration about 47 years back. And it was supposed to be Badagry-Sokoto, but a very detribalised President directed us to change it to Sokoto-Badagry,” Umahi explained.
He credited President Tinubu’s courage and visionary leadership for reviving the old plan, Vanguard reports.
“Only a man with great courage and the power of dreams could engage in such a project,” Umahi said.
He went on to commend Tinubu for his overall performance since assuming office in May 2023.
