LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- President Bola Tinubu and the Federal Economic Council (FEC) have approved Nigeria’s 10-Year National Policy on Marine and Blue Economy, covering the period from 2025 to 2034.

A statement from Sunday Dare, Special Adviser on Media & Public Communication to President Tinubu, explained that the policy includes a detailed implementation plan aimed at harnessing Nigeria’s vast marine resources to stimulate economic growth.

With over 853 kilometers of coastline, Nigeria is poised to make the most of its maritime assets.

The statement also noted that the policy’s implementation will be primarily funded by the private sector, with additional resources coming from various other sources, although specific funding details were not disclosed.

This initiative supports President Tinubu’s vision of attracting more private investments.
