ABUJA, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – Former Ekiti State governor, Kayode Fayemi, has expressed optimism that Nigeria will overcome its current economic difficulties.
In an Easter message released through his media office, Fayemi conveyed heartfelt greetings to Nigerians, especially Christians, highlighting the importance of the season.
The former chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) called on Christians to embody the essence of Easter through compassion and unity.
“Easter is a reminder of the triumph of life over death, light over darkness, and hope over despair,” he said.

“The sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross and His resurrection three days later is the foundation of the Christian faith and a powerful lesson in selflessness, love, and forgiveness.”
Fayemi urged Nigerians to reflect these values by fostering solidarity and contributing to the creation of a just, peaceful, and prosperous nation.
“Economic hardship and political uncertainties continue to test our strength as a people,” Fayemi said.
“But I remain hopeful. Nigeria is blessed with innovative minds and vast resources, and I believe we will emerge stronger from these trials.”
He encouraged citizens to hold on to hope and support one another during Easter and beyond, noting that the season symbolizes the promise of brighter days ahead.
