LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- Movie producer and actress Eniola Ajao has denied allegations of involvement in the March 2024, arrest of popular crossdresser Bobrisky, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
During a recent interview on Yoruba show, “Oyinmomo”, the actress reiterated her innocence, stating that her movie premiere was unfortunately, used as a bait by the EFCC to reel Bobrisky into their net.
Bobrisky who won the “Best dressed female” at the movie “Ajakaju: Beast of Two Worlds” premiere, was arrested by officials from the EFCC for naira abuse and was sentenced to six months jail term.
In recent news, Ajao emphasized that she was unaware of the EFCC’s plan, clarifying that Bobrisky confirmed to her that he was arrested and jailed over several issues beyond just naira abuse. She maintained that it was exhausting trying to convince social media users of her innocence, as they often only believe what fit their preconceived notions.

“I don’t have issues with Bob, we aren’t fighting. Bob knew why he was arrested. But one cannot be coming to social media every time to give explanations because they won’t believe you. Social media users are one way traffic, it’s what they want to believe that they will believe no matter your explanation,”
“So how do you expect him to fight me when he knows and understands our relationship. There’s no way I can abandon him in that situation, it’s only a wicked person that can do that. He was arrested over a lot of things,” she added.
The actress whose latest movie “Owambe Thieves” recently premiered with Bobrisky in attendance, noted that despite his arrest, they remain close and she did her best to support him during and after his incarceration.
“So, it’s better you allow things to unfold itself rather than explaining. Even when Bobrisky was in the prison, I’m always there to check on him,”
she said.
