LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA) – Popular show promoter, Sam Larry has denied assaulting the late Ilerioluwa Aloba aka Mohbad, stating that they had resolved their differences before the singer’s untimely death.

Testifying virtually at the recent corona inquest into the death of Mohbad, he claimed their issues began when Mohbad failed to perform at his birthday party despite receiving a N2 million payment, breaching their agreement.

He claimed that he invested over N20 million to bring Mohbad, his wife and his manager to Dubai for the party, but was disappointed by their absence. He alleged that he requested for a refund via calls and messages but Mohbad neither responded nor acknowledged his it.

“I sent him a message on Instagram to refund my money but he didn’t reply. I went to report him to my lawyer and my lawyer called him but he didn’t pick” he told the court.

Regarding the viral video showing him assaulting Mohbad on set with Zlatan, Sam Larry maintained that he merely approached Mohbad over the contract breach and did not physically harm him. He cited Zlatan as a witness, claiming they resolved the issue amicably and even had lunch together afterward.

He further claimed that Mohbad filed a police report accusing him of bringing weapons and damaging his equipments during shoot at the beach. He stated that he was detained at the Alagbon police station but counter-petitioned, alleging Mohbad ignored multiple invitations for questioning.

“Till he died, he didn’t pay my N2 million. He died three months after we met at Elegushi,” he maintained.

He claimed that he heard of Mohbad’s sad passing while in Dubai and was deeply saddened by the news. He urged the court to question those who spent Mohbad’s last 24 to 48 hours with him, suggesting, “They know what really happened to him.”
