ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Taraba State Police Command, Abdullahi Usman, has passed away following a prolonged illness.
Usman, who served as the spokesperson for the police command for the past three years, died in the early hours of Sunday at his residence in Jalingo, the capital of Taraba State.
His death was confirmed by his deputy, Gambo Kwache, who had previously acted as the command’s spokesperson during Usman’s medical leave.

Kwache told Leadership the moment he received the tragic news, saying: “I was sleeping. I woke up and saw 14 missed calls on my phone and a message stating that Oga was dead. I will call you; let me get there first,” Kwache said.
A close associate of the late PPRO, Mr. Ahmed Manga, also confirmed Usman’s passing. Speaking via the deceased officer’s phone, Manga provided further details about the circumstances leading to his death.
“He was sick, although not much, until last night when he started struggling with the sickness. We wanted to take him to the Federal Medical Center (FMC) Jalingo.
“Before we could get there, he died on the way. He was later confirmed dead when we arrived at the FMC,” Manga explained. .
