LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- A Lagos State High Court has dismissed a lawsuit filed by Herbert Wigwe’s father, Shyngle Wigwe, and a significant portion of the Wigwe family against his granddaughter, Otutochi Wigwe, over the late Herbert Wigwe’s estate.
Recently, a court summons identified with suit number ID/7735, FMP/2024, scheduled for the Lagos State Judicial Division and reinforced by a court order on November 18, 2024, surfaced online, showing that the 90-year-old Pastor Shyngle Wigwe and Christian Wigwe, sued his 26-year-old granddaughter, Otutochi, seeking the appointment of interim administrators in the estate of the late former Group Managing Director and CEO of Access Bank, Herbert Wigwe.

This comes after the rumors in October 2024, that made public the plans of Shyngle Wigwe’s family to disinherit his late son’s children through modifications to his will; an allegation that was denied by the entire family.
Meanwhile, on February 6, Justice A.O. Adeyemi of the Lagos State High Court Family/Probate Court in Ikeja, considered their claims unsustainable and dismissed the case, adding that they were not entitled to the reliefs sought.
“The issue raised above is therefore resolved against the applicants. Consequently, the application dated 28th November 2024, being unsustainable is accordingly dismissed,” it stated.
