ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- Two suspects, Chime Valentine Chidiebere (25) and Alior Jideofor Kenechukwu (30), have been arrested for alleged armed robbery, by the operatives of the Enugu State Police Command, attached to the 9th Mile Division.
Acting on credible intelligence, the operatives apprehended the suspects on February 6, 2025, and recovered a stolen Daylong motorcycle, three locally fabricated guns, and two live cartridges.
A preliminary investigation revealed that on January 5, 2025, the suspects boarded a commercial motorcycle from Okwojo Ngwo to Amokwe Ngwo in Udi Local Government Area.

Along the way, they stopped, shot the rider in the left thigh, and fled with the motorcycle, as was contained in a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer Enugu State Command, SP Daniel Ndukwe on February 17, 2025.
However, through intelligence-driven operations, the police tracked down and arrested the suspects, recovering the stolen motorcycle, firearms, and ammunition.
The statement added that the victim is currently recovering from his injuries.
According to Ndukwe, efforts are ongoing to apprehend the suspects’ accomplices who remain at large.
He noted that once investigations are concluded, the arrested suspects will be charged in court.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Kanayo Uzuegbu, has urged residents to remain law-abiding, vigilant, and to support the police by providing credible and actionable information.
He also emphasized that such cooperation would help the police sustain their fight against criminal activities in Enugu State.
