ABUJA, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)-The Central Bank of Nigeria has announced the 299th meeting of its Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) in four indigenous languages—Yoruba, Hausa, Igbo, and Pidgin.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the apex bank shared the announcement in multiple languages:
Hausa: “Sanarwa, kwamitin kudi na MPC zai gudanar da taro karo na ‘299’ #MPC”
Igbo: “Okwa di oke mkpa 299th MPC, Ogbakọ komitii na afu maka atumatu ego #MPC”

The CBN had previously rescheduled the MPC meeting from its original dates, February 17–18, to February 18–19.
As a crucial event shaping Nigeria’s economic trajectory, the MPC meeting plays a vital role in determining interest rates, controlling inflation, and ensuring overall macroeconomic stability.
