ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- The Kaduna State Police Command has arrested over 580 suspects for various crimes, rescued 30 kidnapped victims, and recovered stolen property, including illegal weapons, across the state.
Commissioner of Police Muhammad Rabiu made this known during a press briefing at the command’s headquarters in Kaduna on Tuesday.
He stated that the achievements were recorded between December 31, 2024, and January 2025, emphasizing the command’s dedication to ensuring security in the state.
“We have been working closely with the community and other security agencies to ensure that Kaduna State is safe and secure for all residents,” Rabiu said.
Rabiu detailed several key arrests, including: Two notorious kidnappers’ informants, Inusa Ibrahim and Hamisu Musa, who were caught making phone calls to suspected bandits and providing names of potential kidnap victims in their village.
Two motorcycle thieves, Ibrahim Abubakar and Surakatu Usman, who attacked victims with a sledgehammer to steal their motorcycles.
Punch reports that the arrest of Yahya Muhammad, a receiver of stolen goods, from whom 16 motorcycles and three tricycles were recovered, the rescue of 23 kidnapped victims who were abducted by armed bandits in Kajuru Local Government Area.

Rabiu credited these successes to the relentless efforts of officers, cooperation from residents, and support from security stakeholders.
“Security is a collective responsibility, and together, we can build a safer and more peaceful Kaduna State,” he added.
According to Rabiu, between December 31, 2024, and February 2025, the police recorded: 580 arrests, including: 20 suspected kidnappers, 320 suspected phone snatchers, 32 suspected armed robbers, 5 car thieves, 13 motorcycle snatchers, 10 suspects involved in rape cases, 23 receivers of stolen goods.
Recovery of stolen properties and illegal weapons, include: 34 stolen motorcycles, 10 stolen vehicles, 1 submachine gun, 4 AK-47 rifles, 2 pistols, 28 rounds of live ammunition with 5 magazines, 52 rustled cows, 4 sledgehammer, 20 bags of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp.
The Kaduna CP assured that the police would sustain these operations to rid the state of criminal elements.
Meanwhile, Rabiu sent a strong warning to criminals, declaring that Kaduna State is no longer a haven for crime.
He urged residents to continue supporting the police by providing timely and credible information to help in crime-fighting efforts.
He also expressed gratitude to the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, for his confidence in him and his team, as well as Governor Uba Sani for providing logistical and moral support to the command.
“Since I assumed duty in Kaduna State, my primary focus has been ensuring the safety and security of all residents and their properties.
“I want to assure the good people of Kaduna State that the state is safer, and we are working tirelessly to sustain and improve the security situation across every nook and cranny of the state,” Rabiu concluded.
