ABUJA, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)-President Bola Tinubu has expressed his condolences to the families, parents, and guardians of the victims who lost their lives in a fire that swept through an Islamic school in Kaura Namoda, Zamfara State, on Tuesday night.
In a statement issued on Wednesday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu mourned the tragic loss of young lives and emphasized the need for school proprietors to prioritize safety.
The fire, which broke out at a Tsangaya (Almajiri) school, claimed the lives of 17 children.

According to residents, the blaze spread rapidly after igniting stored wooden sticks, locally known as ‘kara’ in the Hausa language.
It read, “President Tinubu commiserates with the state government and owners of the school and prays for the quick recovery of those receiving medical attention.
“The President enjoins all public and private schools to prioritise children’s safety and security at all times and directs regulatory authorities in the education sector to ensure compliance with safety standards.”
The President prays that God Almighty will grant eternal rest to the souls of the departed and comfort to their loved ones.
