Jemimah Shares Her Three-Year Health Struggle Caused By Food Poisoning

LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)–Nigerian Actress and Model, Jemimah Osunde has revealed how she got food poisoning that brought her three years of constant health troubles.

The actress gained popularity playing ‘Leila’ in MTV’s hit television series “Shuga” and was also casted in Tiwa Savage’s debut movie, “Water & Garri”.

Recounting her ordeal via her X handle, the 28-year-old chocolate beauty said that about three years ago, she was casted for a movie that was to be shot in the ancient city of Ibadan, Oyo state.

She expressed regret over taking the job and arriving the location, confessing that she should never have allowed them provide her meals but she paid no mind and ate the food provided for her.

Trouble started after eating the food and her stomach which she described as her “greatest op” rejected the meal with complications.

Jemimah, revealed that she got “h pylori” from the ingested meal and ever since she had been in a constant battle for her life due to the complications brought upon by the virus.

She admitted that the past month had been terrible for her coping with the health issues brought upon herself for not being careful. 

Her posts read,

“I’ve never regretted anything the way I regret taking that job and going with them to Ibadan to shoot under their care.. Got h pylori from set food and the aftermath GERD has left me fighting for my life the last 3 years,”

“The past month has really been something. *sigh,”

“My own stomach is my greatest op

Actually, my entire GIT. 

SMH.”

The Helicobacter Pylori bacteria, can be spread through contaminated food, water, through kissing or direct contact with vomit or stool. It can cause open sores called peptic ulcers or stomach cancer when left untreated.
