LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) –Dapper Music, has reacted to recent allegations made by afrobeats singer, Shallipopi, following his departure from the label.
On Wednesday, Shallipopi announced via social media that he had exited Dapper Music, claiming that the label breached his trust, mishandled his finances, and neglected his professional growth.

“We do not have agreements that tie the artist’s future earnings to our business indefinitely,” the statement read. “Our contracts pertain solely to recordings and opportunities provided by our team within the contract term, which is a standard practice in the music industry.”
Dapper Music expressed surprise at Shallipopi’s claims and revealed that they are fully cooperating with auditors engaged by the artist. “We have provided all parties with complete accounting through our accounting system and remain actively involved in the audit process,” the label stated.
The label also highlighted that after the success of Shallipopi’s debut album, he had the opportunity to review and renegotiate his contract with legal representation. “On October 28, 2024, we varied the terms to ensure he could explore new opportunities. This was a collaborative decision, not one made under coercion,” the statement continued.
Dapper Music stressed its ongoing commitment to its artists, stating, “We prioritize transparency and fairness in all our operations. Our artists are always provided with the opportunity for legal representation.”
