LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)-Operatives of Yobe State Command of the Nigeria Police Force, have apprehended three suspects for ATM fraud.
Released in a briefing on Saturday, the Police PRO, DSP Dungus Abdulkarim, said the arrest was a victory against cybercrime and related offenses carried out by criminals in the state.
Abdulkarim reported, that the three suspects namely; Umar Suleman; 22, Nura Umaru; 24, and Sani Kasim; 35, were arrested on Friday by operatives of the State Intelligence Department (SID), for their involvement in a crime syndicate that preyed on ATM users in the state.

He added that the suspects confessed to the crime and disclosed the tricks they used in carrying out their crimes.
“They would offer to assist the bank customers, then swap their ATM cards and withdraw cash from their accounts”, he stated.
According to him, a Mercedes Benz vehicle, 47 ATM cards, and 4 cellphones, were recovered from the suspects.
“Six victims, including a visually impaired person who lost N181,550 have identified the suspects”, he said.
