LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)-Four male suspects between the ages of 26 and 33, have been arrested by operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Osun state Command, for the alleged rape of two minors.
The suspects which were apprehended in Iwo, Iwo LGA of Osun state, on December 3 are named, Afeez Olalekan; 26, Ismail Ibrahim; 30, Sadiq Opeyemi; 30, and Abdulahi Garba; 33.
While parading the suspects in Osogbo, the state capital on Thursday, the Commandant of Osun state NSCDC, Mr Igbalawole Sotiyo, confirmed the incident and revealed that the girls, both aged 13, were lured by the suspects.
In his statement, the Commandant said, the suspects confessed that on several different occasions, they took advantage of the girls on the promise of N500.

As a means to survive, the girls who lived with their grandparents gave in to the temptation.
His statement read, “These minors are living with their grandparents but have not been well taken care of. It was in the course of looking for survival that they were abused by the four suspects,”
“Discreet investigation revealed that the suspects committed the crime.”
Sotiyo, pledged to the public that all four men will be prosecuted, to serve as a warning to others like them.
Addressing members of the press, the suspects also acknowledged their crime, saying they indeed took carnal advantage of the young girls after giving them money, at different times and in different places.
