LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- A warehouse owned by the National Social Investment Programme Agency(NSIPA) located at Idu in Abuja, has been destroyed by fire.
The fire incident reportedly happened on Thursday.
The Director of Information and Public Relations of the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Rhoda Ishaku disclosed that tools worth billions of naira got destroyed by the fire.
According to his report, the Minister of State, Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Dr. Yusuf Sununu, has raised a five-man committee to determine what triggered and caused the fire, while also estimating the cost of the items destroyed in it.

Dr. Sununu, while going through the burnt warehouse referenced the incident as unfortunate and said, that the tools worth billions of naira, destroyed by the fire was for the N-Power training under the National Social Investment Programme Agency.
He assured that due action will be taken to prevent such an incident from repeating itself.
“With what has happened, we will put measures in place to ensure that all other items in our warehouses are well protected. We will also commence as soon as possible the training of beneficiaries so that what has been procured so far can be put to use,” he stated.
For putting the fire out, the minister applauded members of the Federal Fire Service, FCT Fire Service, and Julius Berger for the roles they played.
He also gave thanks to the Nigeria Police Force, Life Camp for protecting what was left from the fiery blaze against vandalism.
