LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- Operatives of the Ondo State Police Command have arrested Prophetess Folashade Adekola, the Pastor-in-Charge of Christ Engracing Deliverance Ministry, over the death of a woman, Jumoke Adesuwa, and her newborn child.

The Prophetess was apprehended after a brother to the deceased raised an alarm following the death of the baby, who died as soon as it was born inside the church while the mother died soon after at a private hospital.

According to sources, after a five-day prayer session, the deceased bled to death after delivering her baby inside the church.

On the ground of anonymity, one of the sources said, “The husband of the deceased came from the farm in Idanre after five days away from home and asked for his wife. So, one of the neighbours told him that she had left for church to be delivered of a baby.

“Someone from the church called in the evening to inform him that his wife has been delivered of a baby. The deceased’s husband called me, and we rushed to the said church called ‘Muzuzo’ at Oke-Aro.

“When we got there, we were told that the baby died in the process, but the mother was alive. On sighting the deceased, we saw her in a pool of blood, bleeding profusely. So, we rushed her to a nearby hospital.

“Due to the worst condition of the deceased, she was rejected at three hospitals, and she died in the process of reviving her in the last hospital that admitted her.

“To our surprise, we got to the church to collect the baby’s remains, and we found the corpse in a room in the church. The condition of the room was very worrisome, as it does not look like a delivery room.

“We approached the Oke-Aro Police station in Akure to report the case that led to the arrest of the prophetess in charge. The remains of the woman have been deposited at the mortuary.”

Ondo State Police spokesperson, Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, confirmed the arrest of the Prophetess. She further said the case had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) for further investigation.
