ABUJA, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)-Edo State Governor-elect Senator Monday Okpebholo has named Fred Itua as Chief Press Secretary for the incoming administration.
The appointment, announced by Okpebholo’s media team in Abuja on Monday, marks the governor-elect’s first major appointment as he prepares for Tuesday’s inauguration and transition of power from outgoing Governor Godwin Obaseki.

Itua, a former journalist with Leadership and The Sun newspapers, will head the Governor’s media team.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, a Master’s in Media Arts from the University of Abuja, and is nearing completion of his PhD in Development Communication at Veritas University, Abuja.
With rich experience covering the National Assembly, migration, health, anti-corruption, and environmental issues, Itua brings valuable expertise in both national and international affairs.
