ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has described the ongoing political crisis in the state as a divine plan meant to bring about political and economic freedom.
Governor Fubara shared this perspective at a thanksgiving service held at the Shepard’s Hill Parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) in Mgbuoba Community, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, to celebrate the appointment of His Royal Majesty, Eze Chike Worlu Wodo, as Chairman of the Rivers State Traditional Rulers Council.
At the service, where the church leadership also presented him with copies of the Holy Bible, Fubara affirmed his belief that the crisis is part of God’s plan.
“I also believe that what you are calling trouble is not trouble to me. I see it as God’s purpose for a new direction for our State,” he said.
He added that God’s involvement has fortified his administration.
“He has taken us higher, right from the first day, which is why, rather than getting weak, we are getting stronger and bolder every day.”
Governor Fubara pledged his unwavering dedication to serving with integrity, stating that he seeks wisdom and guidance from God to ensure his legacy aligns with divine principles.
“We want to finish our work, and our story will be those who led with the fear of God. We might not be perfect in everything, but in the end, there should be a reason why the angels should not allow our bodies to be taken by the devil,” he declared.

Emphasizing the value of thanksgiving, Fubara noted its power to reveal God’s path in challenging times.
He expressed his delight in celebrating with the family of Eze Chike Worlu Wodo, saying, “I am happy and honestly speaking, I am really humbled that at this age and as a traditional ruler, you still reverence God highly. God will continue to lift you above human imagination.”
Reflecting on the royal father’s unashamed gratitude, Fubara compared it to the biblical King David’s humble dance before God. “It is one of the credits that made God to love King David so much. He glorified God in a special way. He was not ashamed, and God loved him,” he remarked.
Governor Fubara further appealed to the church to continue praying for his administration and the peace of Rivers State. Despite visible challenges, he assured the congregation that God’s will would prevail.
“And the secret of our administration is just one thing: your prayers. The quiet and secret prayers that you give for us in your closets count,” he said, adding, “I can tell you, there is no prayer that God does not answer. It is like depositing money in the bank.”
In support of the church’s mission, Governor Fubara donated N100 million to the RCCG parish to further their evangelism efforts in honor of Eze Chike Worlu Wodo.
His Royal Majesty Eze Wodo, Chairman of the Rivers State Traditional Rulers’ Council and Eze Oha Apara IV, expressed his gratitude for his recent appointment and Governor Fubara’s support, describing his life as one of victory despite life’s challenges.
“Since my birth 78 years ago, God has led me through one victory to another amidst the challenges of life,” he said.
Eze Wodo pledged continued support for Governor Fubara’s administration.
